This vaccine is indicated for pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis against rabies. Imovax Rabies vaccine is approved for use in all age groups.
It may cause redness swelling on the site of injection, fever, shivering.
History of serious allergic reaction (i. e. , anaphylaxis) to vaccine components or encephalopathy (e. g. , coma or prolonged seizures) not attributable to an identifiable cause within 7 days of administration of a vaccine with pertussis componentsAsk your pharmacist or health care provider before using any medicine.
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to this medicine or any other medicines. Also tell your health care professional if you have any other types of allergies, such as to foods, dyes, preservatives, or animals. For non-prescription products, read the label or package ingredients carefully. Before receiving this vaccine, tell your health care professional your medical history, especially of: bleeding problems (such as hemophilia, low platelets, anticoagulant treatment), current illness with fever. Read all vaccine information available from your health care professional before receiving the vaccine. If you have any questions, ask your health care professional. Tell the health care professional right away if any of these serious side effects occur: persistent/high fever greater than 102 degrees F (39 degrees C).
