It is used for reducing the risk of “bladder infections” (urinary tract infections). It has also been used for decreasing the smell of urine in people who are unable to control urination (incontinent).
Mild stomach upset and diarrhea.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug. It might interact with warfarin.
Before taking cranberry, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. Some cranberry juice products are sweetened with extra sugar. If you have diabetes, stick with cranberry products that are sweetened with artificial sweeteners. It might increase how much vitamin B12 the body absorbs for people with low levels of stomach acid.
