Stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug. Doxycycline may cause live bacterial vaccines (such as typhoid vaccine) to not work as well. Do not have any immunizations/vaccinations while using this medication unless your doctor tells you to.
Some products that may interact with this drug include: retinoid medications taken by mouth (such as acitretin, isotretinoin), barbiturates (such as phenobarbital), “blood thinners” (such as warfarin), digoxin, anti-seizure medications (such as phenytoin), strontium.
During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. It may rarely harm an unborn baby. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast- feeding.
