This medicine is used with a proper diet and exercise program and possibly with other medications to control high blood sugar. It is used in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Dizziness,headache, nasopharyngitis, cough, constipation, increased sweating.
Hypersensitivity to the drug, patients with diabetic ketoacidosis, hepatic impairment and diabetes type-IISome interactions with this drug are Aripiprazole, Clozapine, Dexamethasone, Dopamine, Acetazolamide, Gatifloxacin and Bexarotene.
It should be used with caution in patients with a known history of severe arthralgia due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition. Replacement with a suitable alternative should be done under your doctor’s supervision. This medicine should be used with caution in patients who are using insulin secretagogues due to the increased risk of hypoglycemia. Close monitoring of blood sugar levels is recommended for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments may be necessary based on the clinical condition. It is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may prescribe a safer alternative based on your clinical condition. Please consult your doctor when taking this medicine if you are pregnant.
