Trimetazidine is used for the treatment of chest tightness, medically known as angina pectoris. This medicine also prevents a sudden rise in blood pressure and also helps in reducing the frequency of angina attacks. It works by producing a good supply of oxygen for the cells of the heart. The medicine also slows the beta-oxidation of fatty acids by blocking long-chain 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase, which increases glucose oxidation.
Dizziness or lightheadedness may occur as your body adjusts to the medication. If either of these effects persists or worsens, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly
