It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug. Before taking entecavir, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: HIV infection, kidney disease, other hepatitis B drugs taken in the past. To decrease your risk of spreading hepatitis B to others, always use an effective barrier method (latex or polyurethane condoms/dental dams) during all sexual activity. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk. Breast-feeding is not recommended while using this drug if you also have HIV. Otherwise, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
